Agartala, September 16, 2022: Allegations have been labelled against BJP-backed ‘Bike Bahini’ for ransacking two shops at Colony Bazaar in West Pilak area and stole various items.
It is reported that the ‘Bike Bahini’ suddenly attacked the shop of Brajlal Das and Mrinal Majumdar, the permanent traders of the market, at the West Pilak’s Colony market of Jolaibari under Santirbazar sub-division on Friday afternoon.
Speaking to media, the owners said that suddenly the ‘Bike Bahini’ with 60 to 70 bikes attacked the shop and tried to kill the owner of the shop. The two businessmen fled from the scene for their lives when the bikers arrived. Two businessmen were known as strong supporters of CPIM. Allegations of such attacks are for supporting the CPIM.
Brajalal Das said he works as a sub-dealer of pan, stationery and gas. He alleged BJP-backed miscreants broke his shop and took goods worth lakhs of rupees along with some gas cylinders. When this was reported to the OC of Jolaibari outpost police station, the OC on duty was reluctant for coming forward with any kind of cooperation. After receiving the information about the incident, the police of Baikhora police station arrived at the spot and inspected.
On the other hand, Mrinal Majumder said that the ‘Bike Bahini’ also ransacked his shop and took away various items. Currently, two businessmen have succumbed to insecurity. The traders said that there is a danger of them attacking in their houses at night. They said that the local authorities are involved in this work. All of them played the role of silent spectators as they saw their shop being attacked. Now it is to be seen what kind of action the administration takes in this regard.
