Agartala, 4th October 2025: A man was detained at GB Hospital today for allegedly defrauding a tribal family. The accused reportedly extorted Rs 1,500 from a patient’s husband over the past two weeks, claiming it was for medical tests after the man’s wife was admitted to the maternity ward.
Upon spotting the suspect at the hospital, the victim, with help from private security personnel handed him over to the police. The accused denied all allegations, stating he was at the hospital for a dental check-up and claimed the tribal youth had falsely accused him. Authorities have launched an investigation into the matter.
