Agartala, 15th September 2024: A tragic incident unfolded in the Charipara Sachindra Lal area of the capital, where a 21-year-old youth, Partha Bhattacharya, was allegedly murdered after consuming liquor mixed with poison.
The shocking event has left the local community in disbelief, as accusations point to his friend, Bura Dutta, a resident of Shibir Tila in Kanchan Nagar, a suburb of the capital.
According to the grieving mother of the deceased, Partha had left home around noon on Saturday with Bura, only to return intoxicated by the afternoon. Partha and his friend were reportedly reprimanded and asked to leave the house due to their drunken state. Later that evening, Partha returned home but suddenly collapsed in his mother’s arms. Despite immediate efforts to save him, he was declared dead upon arrival at IGM Hospital.
The family suspects foul play, accusing Bura of mixing drugs with the alcohol that Partha consumed. The mother claims that Partha’s body emitted a strong smell of medicine, leading the family to believe that he was poisoned. The heartbroken family has vowed to file a case against Bura and has demanded a thorough investigation to bring justice to their son.
The grieving mother, inconsolable in her loss, has urged the authorities to ensure that the accused faces strict punishment. While the police are investigating, the family and community await the results of the post-mortem report, which will be crucial in determining the cause of death and confirming whether poisoning was involved.
