Agartala: August 28. The drivers of public vehicle today blockaded the Ambassa-Kamalpur road protesting the attack on a car driver Anandabazar in Kamalpur by miscreants on Friday late night.On Friday night, miscreants attacked a car driver named Shyamal Shukla Das at ST Bazar in Anandabazar, Kamalpur sub-division.
In protest, the drivers blockaded road at Halahali Bazar on Ambassa-Kamalpur road on Sunday morning. It is known that at around 10:30 that night, the miscreants attacked and seriously injured driver Shyamal Shukladas at Anandabazar under Kamalpur police station.He is currently battling for life at GB Pant Hospital. However even after filing case Police have not arrested any miscreants so far. So the drivers protesting this blocked the road. Due to their blockade of this road, traffic on Kamalpur-Khowai and Kamalpur-Ambassa roads was disrupted.
The protestors demanded immediate arrest of those involved in the inhuman attack of car driver Shyamal Shukladas. They have also demanded that police patrolling should be arranged from Lambu Choumuhni to Sukhyebari camp on Khowai-Kamalpur road. SDPO Sabyasachi Debnath, OC Samaresh Das along with police and TSR rushed to the spot after receiving the information.
