Agartala, January 04: Mayor Dipak Majumder inaugurated a renovated crematorium at Paschim Narayanpur under 4-Barjala assembly constituency on Thursday. The crematorium, located at Ward No. 2, had been neglected for a long time and was in need of repair.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Councilor Sharmistha Bardhan, former MLA Dr Dilip Das, Mayor-in-Council Goutam Chanda and others.
The Mayor said that the BJP-led Agartala Municipal Corporation was working to beautify the city and solve the problems of the people. He said that the Municipal Corporation had taken up projects to improve the lighting system, repair roads, construct drains, and renovate the crematorium.
He said that the renovated crematorium had been provided with drinking water and a shed for the relatives of the deceased. He said that 5 lakh rupees had been spent on the renovation and hoped that it would benefit the surrounding people. He also thanked the people for their cooperation and support.
