Agartala, May 14, 2023: AMC Mayor Dipak Majumder visited the cemeteries and crematorium of Chandrapur area in the capital city. After talking to the local people, he assured to start the construction work quickly.
Residents have been complaining for a long time that the crematorium is abandoned due to various problems including lack of cleanliness. Local people cannot complete their traditional rituals within the crematorium.
After visiting the crematorium and the cemeteries on Sunday morning, the Mayor told the media that the crematorium and the cemeteries adjacent to Chandrapur are in need of renovation. After being informed about this by the public representatives, he came to visit and found that people are not able to use this crematorium and cemeteries. So it needs to be reformed.
Over the next six months, the crematorium will undergo renovations to accommodate cremation.
The Mayor also said that since the establishment of the BJP-led government in 2018, the Corporation is committed to beautify the city of Agartala. On this day, the Mayor was accompanied by the Councilor and philanthropist Rajib Bhattacharjee.
