AMC’s ward no. 39 Corporator Alak Roy announces continuation of ‘Sharad Samman’ awards ahead of Durga Puja

Agartala, August 21: As the much-anticipated Durga Puja festival draws near, the prestigious Sharad Samman Awards are set to make a return this year, thanks to a special initiative spearheaded by Ward No. 39 Corporator Alak Roy of Agartala Municipal Corporation.

AMC Mayor Dipak Majumder, made this announcement during a press conference held at the Ward No. 39 office of the corporation. It’s worth noting that this initiative was successfully launched last year.

The event, which made a grand debut last year, witnessed enthusiastic participation from various clubs within the city of Agartala. Additionally, Ward No. 39 extended its commendable support to the Sharad Samman Awards. This year, as in the previous edition, Ward No. 39 and the City Southern Club Committee will collaborate to confer these prestigious accolades.

Mayor Majumder emphasized that the primary aim of this initiative is to foster and celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit of those involved in organizing Durga Puja festivities.

Deputy Mayor Manika Das Datta and other notable figures joined Mayor Majumder during this press conference, underscoring the significance of the Sharad Samman Awards in promoting and encouraging the vibrant cultural celebrations surrounding Durga Puja in Agartala.
