Agartala, 20th February 2025:    An Anganwadi Kendra located in the heart of Sonamura city has been operating in disarray for 18 years, with children being taught and cooked for in the same room. The center faces multiple issues, severely affecting its operations.

On February 12, the Kendra’s staff reported a theft incident at the facility. However, despite filing a complaint, the police did not take any action to investigate the matter.

According to the staff, repeated appeals to the Nagar Panchayat about the center’s dire conditions have gone unanswered. As a result, the children continue to suffer from the lack of proper facilities.

Local residents expressed their concern over the situation, urging authorities to address the problems promptly. “This problem should be solved quickly by considering the future of the children,” a resident stated.
