Agartala, 23rd May 2025:   Yet another armed robbery has shaken the residents of Churaibari, raising serious concerns over security and police response in the area. The latest incident took place in Khadimpara’s Ward No. 2, where a group of masked robbers stormed the home of daily wage laborer Deosing Gaur late Wednesday night.

According to Gaur, the assailants broke through his door, restrained him, and demanded money they believed was stored in his home. Despite his denial, the robbers looted Rs 2 lakh recently withdrawn from the bank for house repairs along with a mobile phone before fleeing.

Residents are increasingly alarmed over the growing number of thefts and robberies, particularly targeting homes in minority-dominated areas. Many question the role of Churaibari police, accusing them of negligence and a lack of proactive patrolling.

With police officials—including OC Khokon Saha—under scrutiny for their response to the crime surge, the community is demanding swift action to restore law and order. As robberies continue unabated, the question remains: How safe is Churaibari?
