Agartala, 14th August 2025: In a heartfelt blend of patriotism and compassion, Ashvini Netralaya celebrated India’s 79th Independence Day and the birthday of its Founder and CEO, Dr. Anurag Majumdar, by organising a free eye screening camp at Snigdhalaya Seva Ashram.
The initiative brought expert ophthalmic care directly to the doorstep of the elderly women residing at the ashram. The comprehensive screenings aimed to detect cataract, glaucoma, refractive errors, and other age-related eye conditions at an early stage.
Following the check-up, gifts were distributed to all the residents, adding a festive and emotional touch to the day’s celebrations. In a remarkable gesture of commitment, Dr. Majumdar announced that all required surgeries and advanced treatments for the women would be provided free of cost at Ashvini Netralaya, ensuring no one is denied quality eye care due to financial constraints.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Majumdar said, “True independence is the freedom from limitations — and that includes the ability to see the world clearly. Serving these mothers and grandmothers is not just a medical duty, but an emotional one.”

The event stood as a testament to Ashvini Netralaya’s vision of delivering accessible, compassionate, and world-class eye care to every section of society, especially the underprivileged.
With the tricolour fluttering high and hearts brimming with gratitude, the day concluded with a renewed promise — to continue bringing light to lives, one eye at a time.
