Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma to Visit Tripura Sundari Temple on January 15; Security Heightened Ahead of High-Profile Trip

Agartala, 14th January 2026:   Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is set to arrive in Tripura on Thursday, January 15, on a brief visit during which he will offer prayers at the revered Tripura Sundari Temple in Udaipur, Gomati district.

According to sources within the BJP, Sarma will land at Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport in Agartala at around 4 pm. From the airport, he will proceed directly to the Tripura Sundari Temple—one of the 51 sacred Shakti Peethas—where he is scheduled to perform a special puja.

After completing the religious rituals, the Assam Chief Minister will return to Agartala by approximately 7 pm. He will stay overnight in the state capital and is expected to hold a meeting with Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, along with senior BJP leaders, to discuss key political and organisational matters.

On January 16, Himanta Biswa Sarma is slated to depart from Agartala at around 10 am.In view of the high-profile visit, security arrangements have been significantly strengthened across Agartala and Udaipur. Senior police officials are overseeing the arrangements to ensure smooth movement and maintain law and order during the Chief Minister’s visit.
