Agartala: August 02. In a significant operation, the Assam Police intercepted a lorry bearing number AS01MC0387 at Churibari Police Naka Point early this Wednesday morning. The vehicle was suspected to be carrying contraband substances. Upon further inspection, the police discovered a staggering haul of 31,680 bottles of Eskuf syrup, concealed in 105 cartons containing various products.
The estimated black market value of the seized drugs is approximately Rs. 1.5 crores. Upon realizing the presence of the police, the driver of the lorry swiftly abandoned the vehicle and managed to flee the scene, evading arrest. Authorities are currently conducting a search operation to apprehend the driver and investigate any potential links to the drug smuggling network. Investigations have revealed that the valuable drugs were en route to Bangladesh via Agartala, indicating a potential drug trafficking network operating in the region. The authorities are on high alert and are intensifying efforts to combat the illegal drug trade.
