Assam Rifles celebrates Biodiversity Day with a visit to Sepahijala Zoological Park

Agartala, 23rd May 2025:   To mark International Day for Bio Diversity 2025, Assam Rifles organised an excursion for students of Assam Rifles Public School, Agartala to Sepahijala Zoological Park, Tripura on Thursday. A total of 65 students participated in the visit, aimed at educating the students on biodiversity and its role in sustaining life on Earth.

The International Day for Biological Diversity is observed globally to highlight the importance of conserving large variety of life forms and protect sensitive eco systems. It also serves as a reminder of our responsibilities to protect natural ecosystems, prevent species extinction, and ensure a sustainable future for coming generations.

During the visit, students explored the rich flora and fauna at Sepahijala Zoological Park and got acquainted with several endangered species. The interaction with nature provided them valuable insights into habitat conservation, ecological balance, and the impact of human activity on biodiversity.

This initiative by Assam Rifles is part of its continued commitment towards holistic development and instilling a sense of responsibility towards our environment among young learners.
