Agartala, 7th July 2026: Reaffirming its commitment to community welfare, Radhanagar Battalion of Assam Rifles, in collaboration with Kumarghat Press Club and Unakoti District Hospital, organised a Free Medical Camp at D.M. Colony, Fatikcherra ADC Village on 06 July 2026.
The camp brought essential healthcare services to the doorstep of remote communities, benefiting a total of 464 villagers, including 164 men, 212 women and 88 children, through comprehensive medical consultations. Special emphasis was laid on general health and eye care, with medical examinations, eye check-ups and free distribution of essential medicines carried out by a team of healthcare professionals. In addition, mosquito nets were distributed among the villagers to promote preventive healthcare and protect them from vector-borne diseases. The initiative proved particularly beneficial for elderly residents, women and children, many of whom have limited access to quality healthcare facilities.
By delivering timely medical assistance, promoting preventive healthcare and supporting disease prevention measures, the initiative eased the burden of travelling long distances for basic treatment while strengthening the bond of trust between Assam Rifles and the local community. Such humanitarian outreach reflects Assam Rifles’ steadfast commitment to the health, well-being and development of the people of the North East.
