Assam Rifles promotes women’s literacy and empowerment on International Literacy Day

Agartala, 8th September 2026 :   On the occasion of International Literacy Day, Assam Rifles conducted a lecture on Women’s Literacy and Empowerment at Borobekra Higher Secondary School, Manipur, to promote awareness about the importance of education, empowerment and equal opportunities for women.

A total of 50 students participated in the programme. The interactive session highlighted the transformative role of literacy in enabling women to become educated, self-reliant and active contributors to society. Students were also encouraged to recognise education as a powerful tool for personal growth, social development and nation building.

The initiative reflects the commitment of Assam Rifles towards youth engagement, education and community empowerment while strengthening its enduring bond with the local population.

Through such people-centric initiatives, Assam Rifles continues to contribute towards building an educated, empowered and progressive society and fostering peace, harmony and development in the region.
