Assam Rifles seized brown sugar worth Rs 68.2 lakhs in Assam

Agartala, February 02:  Assam Rifles seized 97 gms of Brown Sugar worth Rs 68.2 Lacs from General Area Binnakandi, under Lakhipur police station in Cachar District of Assam on Friday.   

Based on credible information, a joint operation was launched by Radhanagar Batallion of Assam Rifles and Lakhipur police station. The team seized 97 grams of Brown Sugar worth Rs 68.2 lakhs from one civilian along with a Bike.

Seized contents were handed over to Lakhipur police station in Cachar District on Friday for further investigation & legal proceedings.

Agartala, February 02: Cooperative Minister Shukla Charan Noatia laid the foundation stones for a multi-purpose training center and a market shed in two markets of Santirbazar subdivision on Friday. The projects are part of the government’s efforts to provide access to government services and welfare schemes to the poorest people in marginal towns.

The multi-purpose training center, which will be built in Baikhora market, will cost Rs 2 crore 85 lakh and will offer various skill development courses and vocational training to the local youth. The market shed, which will be constructed in Kalsi market, will cost Rs 4 crore 94 lakh and will provide better facilities and infrastructure to the traders and customers.

Speaking at the foundation laying ceremony, Noatia said that the government is working for the welfare of people from all sections of the society and is committed to building “Ek Tripura, Shrestha Tripura”. He also urged the people to cooperate with the government.

The event was attended by MLA Pramod Reang, Jolaibari BAC Chairman Ashok Mog, Jolaibari Panchayat Samiti Vice Chairman Tapas Datta, BDO Manas Bhattacharya and other officials and dignitaries.
