Assam Rifles seized heroin worth Rs 31.6 lakhs in Cachar district

Agartala, February 10: In the war against narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, Assam Rifles successfully recovered 79 grams of heroin of worth Rs 31.6 lakhs from general area Fulertal, under Lakhipur police station in Cachar District of Assam on Friday last.              

Based on credible information, a joint operation was launched by Assam Rifles and Lakhipur police station. The team seized 79 grams of heroin worth Rs 31.6 lakhs and apprehended an individual.

Assam Rifles is maintaining strict vigilance and continously monitoring and undertaking operations to prevent smuggling of narcotics substances.

Seized contents and arrested individual were handed over to Lakhipur police station in Cachar District for further investigation and legal proceedings.
