Agartala, 6th May 2024 : In a dramatic turn of events today, auto drivers staged a road blockade in front of the Milan Chakra CNG station, citing a prolonged shortage of CNG gas.
The blockade ensued after frustrated drivers, who had been queuing for hours, found themselves without gas due to a reported electricity issue halting supply at the station.
Authorities from the AD Nagar police station swiftly responded to the scene, attempting to negotiate with the protestors. However, the drivers remained resolute in their demands for immediate resolution. Amidst the standoff, leaders from the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) arrived at the site, engaging in discussions with the protestors.
Following intense deliberations, the aggrieved auto drivers eventually agreed to disperse, thereby allowing traffic to resume its normal flow. Subsequently, the manager of the Edinburgh CNG station informed reporters that efforts were underway to rectify the power problem, ensuring a swift resumption of CNG supply.
However, amidst this chaos, a separate incident unfolded as some car drivers reportedly disobeyed police instructions and behaved disruptively towards fellow passengers. Despite these challenges, order was eventually restored with the intervention of law enforcement.
Nevertheless, the road blockade by auto drivers resulted in significant inconvenience to ordinary commuters, with many enduring hours of delay. Notably, nationalist organizations took center stage in alleviating the public’s plight, employing theatrical tactics to mitigate the suffering caused by the disruption.
As the situation calms, authorities remain vigilant, ensuring a prompt resolution to the underlying issues causing distress among both auto drivers and commuters alike. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story.
