Auto-rickshaw driver and passenger injured in collision with bus at Charilam Motor Stand

Agartala, 16th August 2025:   A serious road accident took place this evening at Charilam Motor Stand, under Bishalgarh Police Station leaving two individuals injured after a high-speed auto collided with a stationary bus on the national highway.

Local reported that the bus was parked at the stand boarding passengers when an auto-rickshaw bearing registration number TR03C3661 approached at high speed and rammed into the rear of the bus. The impact severely crumpled the front of the auto.

The auto driver Baharul Islam, a resident of Assam sustained critical injuries. A passenger Abdul Kadir also suffered head injuries with visible bleeding reported at the scene. The loud crash drew immediate attention from locals, who rushed to assist and alerted both the Bishalgarh Fire Service and local police.

Emergency responders arrived promptly and transported the injured to Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital for treatment.

In a show of local effort, auto drivers and market vendors from the Charilam area worked together to clear shattered glass from the highway, restoring traffic flow after a brief disruption.

The damaged auto was taken into custody by Bishalgarh Police for further investigation.
