Agartala, December 07, 2022: An awareness and discussion programme on “Drug Free Tripura” was held at the College Auditorium under the management of NSS Unit of the Michael Madhusudan Datta College as a part of Tripura Branch of National Service Scheme, Department of Sports and Youth Programs and National Mental Health Programme.
State Psychiatrist Dr Anup Debnath participated in the discussion and said addiction is a fundamental problem of our state. Due to addiction, a large part of the students and youth are retreating from the beneficial activities of the society. Life is turning to darkness for instant gratification. He urged everyone to come forward to overcome this.
NSS State Branch Coordinator Malay Lashkar appeals to lead NSS volunteers against drug addiction. In addition to bringing back all the addicts from the darkness, he made a sincere appeal to all present so that no one can get involved in addiction again.
College principal Dr. Anupam Guha presided over the meeting. NSS program officer of the college Dr Mukesh Mitra gave the welcome address in the discussion round. The presence of students and teachers in the meeting was noticeable.
