Agartala, July 29, 2022: The team of officials led by Dr Debasish Das of the West Tripura district’s DM office on Friday visited Nagerjala bus stand to create awareness on COVID-19 pandemic among the common masses including bus drivers and conductors here as well as distribute masks amongst all.

Speaking to reporters here, Dr Das said “There is an upward trajectory of COVID-19 cases across the state along with the entire country. For the last one week, active cases are rising across the state. From July 14 to July 27, we have lost 6 persons after getting infected with COVID-19.”

“We have no alternate options left with us to resist this deadly virus other than following COVID appropriate behaviour. Hence, we appeal to all to wear mask or face cover, washing of hands, avoid crowded places, etc. Today, we have come at Nagerjala bus stand for creating awareness against COVID among the bus drivers and conductors. We have come to see that many people don’t wear masks”, he added.

Dr Das also quoted the message of Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha regarding taking jab of precautionary dose by the people aging between 18-60 years. “This vaccination and following COVID appropriate behaviour are the lone ways to protect ourselves from getting infected with COVID-19. We are here to convey this awareness message among the passengers also”, he also added.
