Agartala, August 13, 2022: Under the ‘Azadi Se Antyodaya’ initiative of the West Tripura district administration, the cleaning drive was completed on Saturday at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi premises at Circuit House here.
Mayor Dipak Majumder of Agartala Municipal Council started the program by hoisting the national flag in the clean-up campaign organized on the occasion of ‘Azadi Ka Amrita Mahotsav’. Additional District Magistrate of West Tripura district Asim Saha and others were present.
Speaking to reporters after the clean-up campaign, Mayor Majumdar said that the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is being celebrated across the country on the 75th anniversary of independence through various programs on the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The day is being celebrated by presenting the history of the country’s glorious freedom struggle to future generations and remembering those who made the country independent through self-sacrifice.
