 ‘Bachar Bachao’ exam results: Pass rates surge across secondary and higher secondary levels

Agartala, 30th August 2024:  The Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) revealed the results of the 2024 ‘Bachar Bachao’ exams for both secondary and higher secondary students. The official announcement was made by Dr. Dhananjay Gan Choudhury, President of the TBSE during a press conference held at the board’s state headquarters here on Friday.

A total of 3,817 students appeared for the 12th-grade exams this year, with candidates from the Science, Arts, and Commerce streams participating. Of these, 3,345 students successfully passed, resulting in a pass rate of 87.6%. However, 472 students did not pass the exams, highlighting a challenge for future education initiatives in the state.

In terms of overall figures, the higher secondary exams initially had 25,350 candidates, of whom 20,095 passed, achieving a pass rate of 79.27%. Following the review and the Bachao exams, an additional 3,345 students cleared their exams, bringing the total number of successful candidates to 23,441. The revised pass rate for higher secondary students now stands at 87.6%.

The Madhyamik (secondary) exams saw 2,764 candidates sitting for the exams, with 1,888 successfully passing, yielding a pass rate of 68.3%. However, 876 students failed to clear the exams. The board’s Secretary, present at the press conference, provided further insights into the broader statistics for the Tripura Madhya Shiksha Parshad. Of the 33,739 candidates who appeared for these exams, 29,534 passed, resulting in an initial pass rate of 87.54%.

After the review process and the ‘Bachar Bachao’exams, 31,443 students successfully passed, pushing the overall pass rate to an impressive 93.19%.

Dr. Gan Choudhury also announced that the preparatory work for the 2025 secondary and higher secondary examinations would commence on September 2. The early start is aimed at further improving the academic performance of students in the state and addressing the gaps observed in the current year’s results.

Overall, the 2024 examination cycle has seen a substantial increase in pass rates across both secondary and higher secondary levels, with the combined pass rate rising to 92.46% after the release of the review and ‘Bachar Bachao’ exam results. The Tripura Board’s efforts to ensure that more students achieve academic success have been evident in these latest figures, setting a strong foundation for future educational achievements.
