Bagma-Tepania highway incident: Motorcyclist group accused of chasing car, attempting assault; Three bikes seized

Agartala, 18th June 2026:   A mysterious late-night incident on the Bagma-Tepania National Highway in Udaipur subdivision has created tension among locals after a group of motorcyclists allegedly chased a moving car, damaged its side-view mirror, and attempted to assault the driver.

According to the complaint, Mustak Ahmed Khadim, a driver from Khilpara area of Udaipur, was returning from Agartala to Udaipur in his Maruti Alto K10 on Wednesday night. When he reached Bagma, a speeding motorcycle allegedly hit the car’s side-view mirror while overtaking and damaged it. When Mustak asked the rider to stop and discuss the matter, the rider reportedly fled.

Mustak alleged that later, a group of youths riding four to five motorcycles surrounded his vehicle near a deserted stretch of the highway in the Tepania area and tried to force him to stop. Fearing danger, he drove towards the Dhajanagar Police Lines area, but the group allegedly continued chasing him.

The situation escalated when the youths allegedly tried to stop the car and damage its windows. Local residents intervened and brought the situation under control. Three motorcycles were seized and several youths were detained, while some others managed to escape.

One detained youth identified himself as Biki Debnath and claimed to be from Bishalgarh. The seized motorcycles carry registration numbers TR-07B-6971, TR-07-7884, and TR-01AS-4836.

Police reached the spot after receiving information and started an investigation. Officials are examining whether the incident was only related to a road dispute or involved another motive.
