Bandh Politics No Longer Works in the State: CM

Agartala, 12th February 2026:   Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday strongly criticized the Left Front and its affiliated trade unions, asserting that bandh politics has lost its relevance in the state.

Speaking on the issue, Dr. Saha said, “There is no bandh in Tripura. People and vehicles are moving normally. Bandh politics no longer works. They only stage protests and claim to represent laborers and the working class, but in reality, they are thinking only of themselves.”

The Chief Minister further highlighted the Left Front’s alleged role in shutting down factories, saying, “Look at West Bengal. Many factories in Tripura have also been closed in the past, leaving the poor even poorer. Prime Minister Narendra Modi genuinely cares for the underprivileged, which is why schemes like ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ and ‘Sabka Prayas’ are implemented. Initiatives like the Vishwakarma Yojana now include people who were long neglected. Our government is making sure the Janajati communities are supported, and people are not being fooled by empty promises anymore.”

Dr. Saha also claimed that the people of Tripura are rejecting such bandhs and the Left Front’s politics. “They are replaying old tactics, trying to unite those who were once opposed. But the public is not going to accept these outdated strategies,” he said.
