Bear attacks worker while cutting bamboo in forest at Santirbazar

Agartala, 17th December 2025:  A labourer sustained serious injuries after being attacked by a wild bear while cutting bamboo in the forest near Debipur Teithang under Santirbazar subdivision.

Local sources informed that the bear suddenly pounced on the worker, causing severe injuries to both his legs with deep bite wounds and heavy bleeding.

Hearing his cries for help, nearby villagers rushed to the spot and rescued him in a bloodied state. He was immediately taken to South Tripura District Hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment in critical condition.

The unexpected incident has sparked panic across the Debipur Teithang area.
