Bharat Sankalp Yatra: CS, Addl Secy of Central govt reviews preparedness

Agartala, November 07: The Chief Secretary, JK Sinha, and Additional Secretary, M. Nagaraju, from the Ministry of Coal, Central Government, chaired a review meeting on the Bharat Sankalp Yatra, which is set to commence on November 15.

The purpose of the yatra is to bring various projects and services of the Central and State Governments directly to the people.

During the meeting, the Central Additional Secretary announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the program on November 15. He emphasized the importance of active participation from both state and central government departments within the state. Additionally, 23 sub-divisions will be providing vehicle resources for the program. It was emphasized that Bengali and Kokborok languages should be given priority in the campaign, with Akashbani and Doordarshan playing a leading role in this regard.

Chief Secretary JK Sinha stressed the need for sincere cooperation between the three-tier panchayat system and various departments to successfully implement the Bharat Sankalp Yatra.

Pradip Kumar Chakraborty, the Secretary of the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs, highlighted that various insurance schemes, including Jandhan Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, as well as central flagship schemes and services, are incorporated into this evolving Bharat Sankalp Yatra. He emphasized the importance of organizing publicity campaigns at various levels, including Gram Panchayat, Village Committee, Urban Area, Block, Sub-Division, District, and State levels, to ensure the program’s success.

Furthermore, the Secretary of the ICA Department mentioned that the yatra will also feature health camps, quizzes, discussions, exchange of views, and cultural programs. Awareness programs will be conducted among school and college students, as well as members of self-help groups.

To oversee the implementation of the developed Bharat Sankalp Yatra program, a state-level management committee with the Chief Secretary as chairman, and district-level management committees with district magistrates as chairmen, have been established.
