Bhavan’s Tripura Vidyamandir ushers in new academic era with grand ‘Initiation’ programme

Agartala, 2nd May 2024:   Bhavan’s Tripura Vidyamandir (BTVM), Agartala Kendra, celebrated the beginning of a new academic journey for its youngest students with an elaborate Initiation programme. The event marked the entry of the tiny tots from various branches into the world of education and learning.

The ceremony was inaugurated with a prayer to seek divine blessings, setting a serene tone for the day. The welcome address was delivered by Swapna Shome, who emphasized the significant roles that parents and teachers play in molding the personalities of children. She spoke about the collective responsibility of nurturing the young minds and preparing them for the future.

The event was honored by the presence of Jayanta Bhattacharjee, President of the Agartala Press Club, and Dr. Malay Deb, Assistant Professor at the Department of Bengali, Tripura University. Both dignitaries imparted their wisdom and encouragement to the children, inspiring them to embark on their educational paths with enthusiasm and determination.

Adding to the auspiciousness of the occasion, Dr. GV Subramanian, Director of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Agartala and Kolkata Kendra, bestowed his blessings upon the children. The presidential address was given by Debashis Chakraborty, Retd. IFS and Chairman of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Agartala Kendra, who shared his insights and extended his best wishes to the young learners.

The highlight of the programme was the cultural performances by the students of BTVM Narsingarh, Little Learners Bardowali Branch, Bhavan’s Kala Kendra Lake Chowmuhani Branch, and BTVM Anandanagar Branch. The children showcased a variety of cultural acts, delighting the audience and adding vibrancy to the celebration.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Pompi Majumder, Head Mistress of BTVM, who expressed gratitude towards the parents, teachers, and staff for their cooperation and support. The programme ended on a cheerful note, reflecting the joy and optimism of the young students and their families as they step into the pristine world of knowledge.
