The achievement is considered exceptional as only two Gram Panchayats were selected from over 2.65 lakh Gram Panchayats across the country for the honour. The award also carries a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh, recognising excellence in digital governance and citizen-centric public service delivery.

The recognition highlights the Gram Panchayat’s commitment to promoting digital services at the grassroots level through innovation, transparency and efficient public service delivery. The success has been attributed to the collective efforts of the elected representatives, officials and other stakeholders associated with the Panchayat.

The District Administration, West Tripura, congratulated the entire team of Bijaynagar Gram Panchayat on the remarkable achievement. It also extended its appreciation to the Rural Development Department, including the Minister and Director, for their support in strengthening digital governance initiatives in the state.

Officials described the award as a proud moment for West Tripura and Tripura, expressing hope that the national recognition would inspire other Gram Panchayats to adopt innovative digital governance practices and further strengthen transparent, accountable and citizen-centric rural administration.
