Agartala: August 02. Janajati Kalyan Minister of the state Bikash Debbarma today said that principal, teachers and hostel wardens will be trained to develop physical nutrition and mental health of the students of Eklavya Model Residential School in Janajati area during a 4-day workshop.
A 4-day workshop aimed at developing nutrition and mental health of Janjati students has started at the State Guest House from today.The workshop was inaugurated by Janajati Kalyan Minister Bikas Debbarma.
Principals, teachers, hostel wardens and representatives of various Eklavya Model Residential Schools from Tripura, Nagaland, Mizoram, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh and West Bengal participated in the workshop.
The workshop was organized with the support of National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) and Public Health Foundation of India under Ministry of Tribal Welfare, Government of India.Inaugurating the workshop, Minister Debbarma said that in the workshop, the principal, teachers and hostel wardens will be trained to develop physical nutrition and mental health of the students of Eklavya Model Residential School in Janajati area.
He said, 58 participants from 6 states in the workshop will participate. In addition Dr. Pushkar Kumar, senior Public Health Specialist in the workshop said that the workshop will provide training to the participants in four stages. He said that such workshops have already been organized in Bhubaneswar of Odisha and Udaipur of Rajasthan. 112 principals, teachers and hostel wardens have been trained in the workshops.
Deputy Commissioner of National Education Society for Tribal Students Indira Mudgal, Secretary of Janajati Kalyan Department LT Darlong, Director S Prabhu among others spoke at the opening ceremony of the workshop.
