Agartala, 27th July 2025:    Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma today reiterated the government’s firm commitment to creating a better and more equitable educational environment for tribal students. Following the conclusion of a key party program in the Simna assembly constituency, the Minister visited three major tribal student facilities: Surendra Nagar ST Girls Hostel, Akhlia Chha ST Girls Hostel, and Katlamara ST Boys Boarding House.

During his visit, Minister Debbarma interacted directly with students and took note of the challenges they face in their daily lives. Students candidly shared issues related to inadequate infrastructure, lack of basic amenities, concerns about security, and the overall academic environment in the hostels.

Listening attentively, the Minister assured prompt action and stressed the government’s intention to make tribal education a top priority.

“The main goal of the government is to provide a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment to every tribal student. We are committed to quick solutions to their problems so that they can move forward on the path of fulfilling their dreams without any hindrance,” said Minister Debbarma.

He further emphasized the importance of educational investment in tribal areas, highlighting that the government sees it as essential to building a self-reliant and equal society.

“Upgrading the quality of education and living standards for our tribal students is not just a policy — it’s a moral responsibility to strengthen our future generation,” he added.

Following the visit, Minister Debbarma assured that the concerned departments have been directed to take necessary steps at the earliest to improve facilities at the hostels.
