Agartala, 21st December 2025: Former Chief Minister and Member of Parliament Biplab Kumar Deb today alleged that if anyone has killed the largest number of poor people in the world, it was the communists.
He made the remarks while attending Martyrdom Day, which was celebrated in Nalua at the initiative of the 37 Rishyamukh Mandal. Later, while addressing the rally, MP Deb said that the Communist Party has killed the most poor people in the world.
“When their mother or father died, the communists did not even perform Shraddha,” he said.Deb also compared the communists to ghosts.“Policies and leaders of the CPIM are not needed in the state of Tripura or even in India, because they are anti-national, anti-poor, anti-people, anti-women and anti-society,” said Deb.
In an oblique reference to former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, Deb said that earlier people knew only one Chief Minister of Tripura, but now people know Tripura. He said people now know the temple of Tripureshwari Maa, where around 10,000 people gather every day. As a result, the socio-economic status of the people of Tripura is improving.
Targeting the CPIM further, MP Deb said that the Communist Party has killed the most poor people in the world, whether in Russia or China. He also compared the CPIM with Maoists and said that the CPIM is the last form of Maoism.“The main work of the communists is to promote anti-India ideology. If Biplab Kumar Deb walks from Nalua to Agartala, the CPIM will not be found in any house,” he said.On December 21, 1989, nine members of the opposition party were killed by CPIM assassins in Nalua. The residents of Nalua still remember this day. Every year, Martyrdom Day is observed in Nalua at the initiative of the 37 Rishyamukh Mandal, and this year was no exception.
Martyrdom Day was observed in Nalua on Wednesday, and a public rally was organized on the occasion.
