Agartala, 21st October 2025: Former Tripura Chief Minister and BJP MP Biplab Kumar Deb on Tuesday described West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee as a “demon” and expressed confidence that the people of the state are ready to vote her out.

Deb, who serves as BJP’s Election Co-incharge in West Bengal, made the remarks after performing puja at Indranagar Kali Bari in Agartala.

He alleged that Mamata Banerjee’s governance lacked “human values” and pointed to incidents of violence and corruption as examples of misrule. “The people of West Bengal are eager for change. I have held five meetings there and sensed the public’s desire to end the Trinamool Congress’s rule,” he said.

Deb further accused the West Bengal Chief Minister’s family of involvement with land mafias and reiterated BJP’s commitment to fight for what he called the “survival of human values” in the state.
