Agartala, November 18, 2022: On the occasion of “National Press Day”, Bishalgarh Press Club organized a one-day long media workshop at a private hall in Bishalgarh town on Friday.
In this workshop, Agartala Press Club secretary Pranab Sarkar, president Subal Kumar Dey, retired police inspector Pranab Sengupta, Bishalgarh Press Club president Bhabatosh Ghosh and others were present.
The guests started the program by lighting the lamp at the beginning of the program. While speaking at this media workshop, Agartala Press Club president Subal Kumar Dey said that since the past 2018, journalists of the state have been attacked in various ways till the current year 2022 and the journalists have to continue on the same path by being attacked again and again.
He also said that in 2018, the journalists of the state worked tirelessly for the government. “But after the establishment of the current ruling party, journalists are treated badly in various ways. Not only are that during the period of this ruling party, journalists being attacked the most in the state. Their freedom of speech has been taken away making it impossible to publish any truthful news. And if you reveal it, you have to be threatened again and again”, Dey alleged.
Warning the current ruling party, Agartala Press Club president said that journalists can do anything if they want, but no one’s power is permanent.
Retired Police Inspector Pranab Sen Gupta discussed in detail about crime reporting in this event. A total of 31 journalists working in Bishalgarh sub-division participated in this workshop of the day.
