Agartala, December 11: In anticipation of the forthcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Bishalgarh SDM Rakesh Chakraborty unveiled the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) Demonstration Center at the Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s office. The inauguration ceremony, held on Monday afternoon, was attended by Sub-Divisional DCM Prasenjit Das and representatives from various political parties.
The EVM Demonstration Center aims to educate the public on the process of casting votes through Voter Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) and EVM machines for the upcoming elections. SDM Rakesh Chakraborty officially inaugurated the center by cutting the ceremonial ribbon during a modest ceremony at the Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s office.
As part of the initiative, daily demonstrations on the EVM voting process will be conducted at the Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s office, allowing individuals, including new voters, to familiarize themselves with the voting procedure. Election in-charge DCM Prasenjit Das emphasized that the Demeteration Center aims to inform and educate citizens on the voting process, ensuring a smooth electoral experience for all. The inauguration event witnessed the presence of key officials, including SDM Rakesh Chakraborty, DCM Prasenjit Das, and representatives from various political parties.
