Agartala, November 13: Biswa Bandhu Sen, the MLA of Dharmanagar and the Speaker of the State Legislative Assembly, visited several puja pandals in the suburbs of Dharmanagar on Monday and interacted with the club members and the locals. He also inaugurated the puja of Deshbandhu Club in Kameshwar and praised the club officials for their efforts.
Sen, who is known for his pro-Hindu views, urged the people to follow the ancient Sanatan Dharma and impart the knowledge of Vedas and Upanishads to their children. He said that Hinduism is the oldest and most tolerant religion in the world, which has survived many invasions and attacks from other religions.
He said that some people have belittled Hinduism and considered themselves secular by speaking against it and eating forbidden things. He challenged them to eat the forbidden things of other religions in front of their followers and see the consequences.
He said that no nation can progress by denying its own religion and culture, and asked the people to always give priority to their religion and work hard for their success. He also addressed the parents and asked them to pay attention to the religious education of their children.
He also announced that he would provide tin sheets for the Kali temple adjacent to the Deshbandhu Club after the Kali Puja. The chairman of the Dharmanagar Municipal Council, Pradyut De Sarkar, who accompanied him, said that he would bring the tin sheets from Sen’s house. The locals expressed their happiness and gratitude for Sen’s gesture.
