BJP & IPFT MLAs sworn-in at Assembly; CM Dr Saha bats for development of all

Agartala, March 16: Assembly’s Protem Speaker Binoy Bhushan Das administers the oath of office and secrecy to the MLAs of Bharatiya Janata Party and its allied partner IPFT at the house of the state legislative assembly on Thursday.

Altogether, 31 MLAs of BJP and one MLA of IPFT sworn-in at Assembly premises on Thursday noon.

Speaking to media persons here, Chief Minister Prof Dr Manik Saha, who is also the leader of the house said “We have pledged to work for the country’s development and work for the people’s welfare. As we are committed, we will the state’s people that the government will initiate all untiring efforts to maintain peace and harmony, don’t say anything that spread hatred, and all tribal and non-tribal populace can move forward miles together so that everyone extend cooperation. There is ruling party and opposition is also there. In the coming days, we will work in a constructive way in the assembly.”

“I will again appeal to the all sections of people to bless us for executing ‘Ek Tripura, Shrestha Tripura’. The people of the state had blessed us in the last assembly election and did the same in this recently concluded assembly polls. We are determined to keep the treasure of their blessings”, he added.

Citing instance of progress, Dr Saha said “The government is Tripura cannot think else except development. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi also stated ‘Unnato Tripura’. Hence, development is our prime concern through all the departments. Accordingly, we will work on that direction diligently.”
