Agartala, February 12, 2023: In the upcoming assembly election, the independent candidate Biman Joy Reang gave a demonstration of strength in the state’s 60-Kanchanpur Scheduled Tribe reserved assembly constituency on Sunday.

Reang, the independent candidate and supported by the BJP Kanchanpur Mandal, called for a grand march with thousands of supporters. As a result of this grand procession, the entire operation came to a standstill on Sunday in the heart of Kanchanpur sub-division.

For seven long hours on Sunday, the pro-independent youth force shook the town by bike procession and foot march in support of the independent candidate. On this day, one rally after another has practically given a tough challenge to the other opposition political parties.

It is to be noted that IPFT party candidate Prem Kumar Reang is contesting in 60-Kanchanpur assembly constituency as BJP-IPFT alliance. But the Kanchanpur BJP mandal committee declared a revolt after the nomination of Prem Kumar Reang as the alliance candidate. Later, the mandal committee nominated Janajati Morcha leader Biman Joy Reang of BJP Kanchanpur mandal as an independent candidate without the permission of the state.

The mandal leadership and district level leadership jumped in support of Biman Joy. As a part of the campaign, a huge bike rally of the youth was held from 60-Kanchanpur Sadar area to Dasada Bazar. Thousands of people marched in support of Biman Joy Reang.
