Agartala, 14th February 2025: The BJP state office witnessed an outpouring of grief and respect as colleagues and party members gathered to pay their last tributes to the late Paschim Tripura Zilla Parishad Sabhadipati Balai Goswami. The solemn ceremony began with the arrival of Goswami’s mortal remains, which were brought to Agartala this afternoon. Minister Ratan Lal Nath and other dignitaries paid their final respects at the MBB airport before the body was taken to the BJP party office.
At the BJP office, Goswami’s colleagues paid homage by offering flowers to his mortal body. The atmosphere was heavy with emotion as party members, friends, and well-wishers expressed their condolences. Following the tribute at the party office, a mourning procession was carried out in the city, reflecting the profound impact of Goswami’s passing on the community.
Minister Ratan Lal Nath expressed his deep sorrow and shared heartfelt memories of his association with Balai Goswami. “Today I bid farewell to my dear friend, long-time political companion and West Tripura Zilla Parishad President Balai Goswami for the last time. I was present on his last journey and paid my respects. My heart is filled with so many memories, struggles, and happy moments. I pray to God that he may rest in peace wherever he is,” Nath stated, visibly moved by the loss.
Speaking to media personnel here, Minister Tinku Roy emphasized the irreplaceable loss to the party. “There is no substitute for a skilled worker like Balai Goswami in any political party. He used to perform all the election duties with exceptional skill. In short, we have lost a highly valued and skilled worker,” Roy remarked.
The body was then taken to Goswami’s residence, where further tributes were paid by his family and close friends. The community gathered in large numbers to offer their condolences and support to the grieving family.
The untimely demise of Balai Goswami has left a void in the West Tripura Zilla Parishad and the broader political landscape of Tripura. His contributions to the party and his dedication to public service have been widely acknowledged and will be remembered by all who knew him.
