Agartala, 4th April 2026 : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Vice President and Kondagaon MLA, Lata Usendi, has been appointed as the Election In-Charge for the upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections. With the elections for the 28-seat council scheduled for the 12th of this month, political activities have significantly intensified across the state. Out of the 28 TTAADC seats, 25 are reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST).
Taking charge of the campaign, Lata Usendi led a grand foot march (padayatra) and a massive public rally in support of Mr. Amar Jamatia, the BJP candidate for the 20 Killa-Bagma constituency. The event witnessed a remarkable turnout, drawing a huge crowd of local supporters.
Addressing the immense gathering, the speakers prominently highlighted the party’s core agenda of regional development and public welfare. The stage was graced by senior dignitaries, including the National President of the BJP Scheduled Tribe (Janajatiya) Morcha, Sameer Oraon, regional MLA Rampada Jamatia, Tuton Das, and several other key party office bearers.
During the assembly, BJP leaders underscored the extensive development initiatives undertaken in the state and fervently appealed to the public for their continued support. The event saw overwhelming participation from the local community, reflecting tremendous enthusiasm in favor of the BJP.
In a significant political development following the public meeting, members of 321 families defected from various opposition parties to officially join the Bharatiya Janata Party. The newly inducted members expressed that their decision to join the BJP was deeply inspired by the ongoing pace of developmental works in the state.
With the TTAADC elections drawing closer, such public rallies and comprehensive efforts to mobilize grassroots support are expected to intensify further in the coming days.
