Agartala, 24th October 2024: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tripura is on the verge of reaching its ambitious target of enrolling 12 lakh members, according to the party’s General Secretary, Amit Rakshit. Speaking to reporters, Rakshit shared that the membership drive has seen enthusiastic participation from party workers and leaders at all levels.
“Last year, our membership stood at approximately 6 lakh, and we have already surpassed that figure. This year, the goal was set at 12 lakh, and we are steadily progressing towards it,” he said.
Rakshit explained that the drive is being conducted through a combination of online and offline methods. “To date, over 7 lakh members have been enrolled through our online platforms, and an additional 4 lakh have joined via offline efforts. The response from the public has been overwhelmingly positive, reflecting their trust in the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he added.
He attributed this growing support to the welfare initiatives of both the central and state governments, as evidenced by the party’s recent electoral success in the state.
The membership drive, which has been running for the past month, is now in its second phase, with Chief Minister Manik Saha and other key leaders actively participating alongside grassroots workers. Rakshit expressed confidence that the party would soon exceed its target, emphasizing the dedication of all involved in the campaign.
