Agartala, 7th September 2026 : Political tension escalated in West Ludhua ADC Village under Sakram subdivision of South Tripura after BJP workers allegedly set fire to their own party office on Monday, protesting the reported seat-sharing arrangement with alliance partner Tipra Motha ahead of the upcoming ADC Village Committee elections.
According to reports, Tipra Motha has decided to field candidates in all seven wards of the West Ludhua ADC Village, leaving no seats for the BJP. The reported decision triggered strong resentment among sections of BJP workers and supporters in the area.
As news of the arrangement spread, agitated BJP workers gathered at the party office located in the Ludhua Upper Bazar area and allegedly set the office on fire in protest. The party office was completely gutted in the incident.
The development has sparked fresh political tension in the area ahead of the Village Committee elections. The reported seat-sharing arrangement between the BJP and Tipra Motha has already become a sensitive issue among local party workers, with the latest incident highlighting growing dissatisfaction over the allocation of seats.
