Agartala, 1st November 2024: Tipra Matha party’s founder and MDC Pradyot Kishore Debbarman announced that BJP, Tipra Motha and IPFT will contest the upcoming village committee elections together. This announcement came after his meeting with the state Chief Electoral Officer on Thursday.
Earlier in the day, Debbarman met with Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha and later with the State Election Commission, urging them to expedite the village council elections. “I discussed various issues related to the village committee elections with the Chief Minister and the Chief Electoral Officer. It is crucial to hold these elections soon for the development of Tiprasa,” Debbarman stated.
He also emphasized the need to register voters from the 13 Bru refugee camps in the state. “I have written to the Chief Electoral Officer to ensure that the residents of these camps are registered as voters,” he added.
Highlighting the importance of unity, Debbarman said, “BJP, Tipra Matha, and IPFT should fight together in the village committee elections. If we join forces, the development of the state will be possible.”
