Agartala, 5th March 2025 : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to celebrate the second anniversary of its government in Tripura with a grand public meeting at Swami Vivekananda Maidan in the capital on March 9. The event, originally scheduled for March 8, was postponed due to ongoing secondary and higher secondary examinations.
Announcing the event at a press conference on Wednesday, BJP State President Rajib Bhattacharjee said, “The achievements of the BJP government over the past two years will be presented to the people in a structured manner. We invite everyone to join us at Swami Vivekananda Maidan at 11 a.m. on March 9 to learn about the government’s work and future plans.”
The event will feature Union Health Minister and BJP National President JP Nadda as the chief guest, along with Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, state ministers, and senior party leaders. Following the state-level program, similar activities will be organized at district, mandal, and booth levels to inform the public about the government’s initiatives.
To ensure the smooth execution of the event, a nine-member team led by Minister Ratan Lal Nath has been formed. “This team, including Ministers Pranajit Singha Roy and Sushanta Chowdhury, will oversee the arrangements,” Bhattacharjee added.
Speaking at the press conference, Minister Ratan Lal Nath highlighted the government’s developmental achievements. “In the past seven years, ₹4,291 crore has been allocated by the Centre for development, and ₹516 crore has already been spent on various projects. This scale of work has never been seen before in the state,” he said. Nath also criticized the opposition, stating, “A handful of people are trying to mislead the public about the state’s progress. The BJP envisions ‘One World, One Family, One Future,’ and this includes everyone, even the CPI(M).”
The BJP has finalized preparations for the event, with meetings being held at mandal and booth levels to mobilize support. Party leaders expressed confidence that the public meeting would showcase the government’s commitment to development and its vision for a prosperous Tripura.
