Agartala, 13th November 2025:  In a strikingly unconventional move, the BJP Tripura Pradesh Family has issued a formal apology to the citizens of Tripura not for any wrongdoing, but for the unintended consequences of rapid development under its governance.

The letter titled “Official Apology Letter” and written in Bengali humorously acknowledges that the party’s achievements have caused “physical and mental distress” among opposition leaders. It goes on to list several milestones that have allegedly triggered this discomfort.

“We regret to inform you that voting for the Bharatiya Janata Party has certain side effects,” the letter states, before detailing a series of accomplishments.

Among the highlights mentioned: Over 500,000 permanent houses built for poor families in the last seven years; Launch of 12–13 long-distance trains without resorting to protest theatrics; Construction of six national highways, an international airport, and new dental and nursing colleges — all without lamenting “central deprivation”; More than 20,000 government appointments made through a transparent, corruption-free recruitment process; and Recognition of Tripura with six national awards for its anti-corruption efforts, including action against scams like Rose Valley and Burbhan Pharma.

The letter concludes with a tongue-in-cheek apology for these developmental activities, stating, “We officially apologize and seek your forgiveness for all these initiatives.”

Political observers view the letter as a satirical jab at opposition parties, highlighting the BJP’s governance record while mocking traditional protest politics.
