BJP will win ADC polls, people will choose development: CM

Date:

Agartala, 7th April 2026:   Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today said that the janajatis will no longer be cheated by the Tipra Motha, as they will not be able to find the party anymore.

“As the ground has shifted under their feet, they have now resorted to hooliganism. And the representatives of the Jumia community will be able to provide real development to the janajatis,” said Dr. Saha.

Dr. Saha said this at a rally organized in support of the TTAADC candidate of Ampinagar constituency today, ahead of the ADC elections.

The Chief Minister welcomed 427 voters to the Bharatiya Janata Party at today’s public meeting.

While addressing the meeting, Dr. Saha said a National Highway is being built in a place like Ampi, which could never have been imagined.

“Tripura is moving forward with the aim of development like this through Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Act East Policy. Today, six National Highways are being built in Tripura, most of which are passing through tribal-inhabited areas. For this, tribal brothers and sisters are receiving compensation for land acquisition. This is developing them economically. We are really lucky to have got such a Prime Minister,” said Dr. Saha.

In his speech, the Chief Minister said, “This time you are going to make history. You will be the witness to history.”

“This Tipra Motha will no longer exist; you will not be able to find the Motha. I am now traveling all over Tripura. They have cheated the tribals, which people have now understood. They are trying to do politics by showing their muscle. Now that the ground has shifted under their feet, they have resorted to hooliganism—shouting, beating people, beating candidates, and attacking our ministers’ cars. But you have to understand that people want peace. In our state, a Manipuri personality, Sachindra Lal Singh, has become the Chief Minister. A tribal personality, Dashrath Dev, has also become the Chief Minister. Members of the SC and Bengali communities have become Chief Ministers as well. But now they are giving the wrong message and misleading the people,” he said.

The Chief Minister said, “We do not need people riding elephants and horses. We need real leaders from the Jumia community. Representatives of the Jumia community can ensure real development of the tribals. Today, a tea seller is taking our country forward towards development and has established himself as one of the leading statesmen in the world. So we also want you to make history this time. We want the children of the Jumia families, the children of poor families of Thansa, to be placed in the ADC. They are the ones who will speak for the development of the tribals. For our sake, such people should run the ADC. And we are working in that direction,” he said.

The Chief Minister said that regarding the ADC elections, the BJP has decided to contest in 28 seats.

“We are moving forward with that goal because we cannot rely on local parties. On the day of the upcoming April 12 elections and on the day of the declaration of results on the 17th, you will all be happy with the saffron colour. Because I am sure that this time it has gone, it will not come again. Wherever there is corruption in the country, the Bharatiya Janata Party has fought and won to remove that evil force. The BJP is in power in this country and also in the state, so there is no need for any corrupt third force in the ADC,” he said.
