BJP will win all 21 urban local bodies, says Tripura CM Manik Saha

Date:

Agartala, 6th November 2026 : Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Friday expressed confidence that the BJP would secure victory in all 21 urban local bodies in the upcoming urban local body elections and form the government across all the civic bodies.

Speaking about the party’s electoral prospects, the Chief Minister said that the BJP had previously won 20 out of the 21 urban local bodies and was now confident of improving its performance by winning all 21.

“We had won 20 out of 21 urban local bodies last time. This time, we will win all 21 and form our governments in all of them,” Saha said.

He further urged party leaders and workers to focus on securing an even bigger victory margin, emphasising the need to obtain a stronger mandate from the people.

The Chief Minister said that the BJP would approach voters highlighting its development initiatives and achievements across the state.

He pointed out that the government had undertaken several development projects in both urban and rural areas, but since the upcoming polls are specifically focused on urban areas, the party would primarily highlight its development work in towns and cities.

“We have been carrying out extensive development work in urban areas as well as in villages. However, since this is an urban election, we are reaching out to people with our development agenda and the work we have undertaken in towns and cities,” he said.
