Agartala, December 21: The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tripura organized a one-day training program for 62 campaign managers, known as vistaraks, in preparation for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
The training session took place at the party headquarters in Agartala today afternoon.
Vistaraks play a crucial role in overseeing a constituency or a significant organizational jurisdiction, while grassroots-level election preparations are typically handled by panna pramukhs, who maintain contact and run campaigns among voters in specific localities.
Distinguished BJP leaders from the Northeast region and Delhi, including the national general secretary (organisation) B L Santosh, visited the state for the event. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee, and leaders from the frontal wing were also present at the state headquarters in Krishnanagar during the afternoon session.
Ratan Ghosh, BJP state general secretary, commented on the training initiative, stating, “We have successfully trained 62 vistaraks today. With the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections in mind, the training aims to enhance and strengthen our organizational structure.”
