Agartala, 18th May 2026: A sudden fire in the dried stems of paddy adjacent to Raj Kishore Roy’s residence in the Goalabasti locality triggered panic among residents today. Locals alleged that the blaze may have been deliberately set by unknown individuals. As the flames spread rapidly, fear gripped the neighborhood.
On receiving information, two fire engines from NCC and Kunjaban Fire Service rushed to the spot. Firefighters launched intensive efforts to bring the situation under control.
Ajay Kishore, son of the house owner, stated that the blaze caused extensive damage to the dried stems. He estimated losses of nearly Rs 80,000. Authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the incident.
