Agartala, 29th July 2026 : Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) College on Wednesday organised a Mega Blood Donation Camp and unveiled the inaugural issue of its academic journal, VIDYAPATTAN: A Journal of Social and Scientific Research, during a programme held at Rabindra Hall on the college campus.
The twin events were inaugurated by Tripura’s Higher Education Minister, Kishor Barman, in the presence of academicians, medical professionals, and college faculty members.
As part of the blood donation camp, a total of 75 voluntary donors came forward to donate blood, reaffirming the spirit of social responsibility and humanitarian service among students, teachers, and well-wishers. The organisers said the initiative was aimed at supporting healthcare services while creating awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation.
The programme also marked a significant academic milestone with the release of the first issue of VIDYAPATTAN: A Journal of Social and Scientific Research. The journal is expected to provide a platform for researchers, scholars, and academicians to publish quality research in the fields of social sciences and scientific studies.
Among those present were MBB College Principal Dr. Arjun Gope, Teachers’ Council Secretary Dr. Nilima Biswas, Medical Officer of GBP Hospital Dr. Abhra Barman, Prof. Sujit Deb of ICFAI University and Deputy Editor of the journal, and Dr. Pradip Debnath, Editor-in-Chief of the journal.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ratna Biswas, NSS Programme Officer of MBB College.
The entire event was successfully coordinated by Dr. Madhumita Debnath, Associate Professor of MBB College, reflecting the institution’s commitment to promoting both community service and academic excellence.
